Media Statement with Regards to Coronavirus Outbreak

We regret to announce that the GCIAD international conference on SDGs which was planned for April 13th is now postponed. We have carried out a risk assessment linked with the Coronavirus outbreak and we have decided to postpone the event. We continue to monitor the situation closely and we will provide updates as necessary. We are working closely with Geneva/Bern authorities to plan for a safe event.

The conference aims to discuss  the role of all stake holders  in sofar as they have an active contribution to materialize SDGs -2030 and to highlight the achievements as well as the challenges.

Why SDGs conference?

The SDGs are Global commitments signed by all  UN member states for 2030. This means that all states are called upon equally to play their part in finding shared solutions to the world’s urgent challenges . Switzerland is also required to implement the Goals on a national basis.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and  in the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, which are an urgent call for ending poverty and other deprivations which must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
